Karnataka Shakti Scheme 2023
The scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr. Siddaramaiah. In this scheme, the government is going to provide free travel facilities to women in government buses. This scheme will be implemented from June 11. In this scheme, women can travel within the state as the scheme does not cover the travel of interstate buses. State Road Transport Corporations like KSRTC, NWKRTC, and KKRTC have 50% of seats reserved for men.
Transgender can also take advantage of this scheme. Women can apply for Shakti Smart Card on the Sevasindhu portal within the next 90 days. Women can use the ID card issued by the Central and State Governments till they are issued, Shakti Smart Card. The road transport companies will be compensated according to the distance traveled by the women in the buses.
